As we switch our classrooms to include more students conducting investigations, solving real world problems, and engaging in open ended discussions, our traditional method of multiple choice assessments no longer match the goals of our learning. Join two high school chemistry teachers who tackled the challenge of developing lab assessments that can be performed successfully, can be completed in a reasonable time frame, and accurately assess all three dimensions of the science standards.

In this session, participants will learn practical examples of how to design and implement lab based performance assessments that offer students a meaningful context to demonstrate their understanding.
